IRDR’s Djillali Benouar on public investment in DRR projects in Algiers

IRDR SC Djillali Benouar gave a presentation on “Public Investment in Infrastructure to Reducing Flood Disaster Risk in the District of Bab El Oued in Algiers (Algeria)” at the Ignite Stage of the 3rd UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction last 15 March.


The public investment in DRR presentation shows the political engagement of the Algerian government for flood disaster risk reduction in the urban site of Algiers (capital of Algeria) and what could be the complexity of the project and the budget allocated by the public authorities for disaster risk reduction.

Djillali is the Director of Built Environment Research Laboratoy in the University of Bab Ezzouar, Algiers and currently serves as an IRDR Science Committee member.
