IRDR ICoE in Resilient Communities and Settlements (RCS) was formally inaugurated this week at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur. The center was inaugurated at the hands of Dr. Padole, Director, VNIT Nagpur in the presence of other eminent faculty members and Deans. The center at VNIT is hosted by Department of Architectire and Planning and is joined by faculties of Civil Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences.

The center is already undertaking bilateral and multilateral international research projects focusing on coastal risk governance and collective resilience of urban-rural regions in collaboration with prominent institutions from Japan, China, South Africa and Brazil. The center also is hosting visiting research scholar, Mr Vibhas Sukhwani from Keio University, Fujisawa, Japan under the Indo-Japan bilateral project.
